First Engagement

Capstone’s first engagement started on September 28, 1998 with a telecommunications firm in Kansas City.

Early Years - Dot Com Explosion and Implosion.

Capstone’s focus was on object-oriented projects and instructing in leading edge technologies. Capstone delivered several medium sized projects for a variety of clients throughout the United States. The core technologies, tools and processes were C++, Java, J2EE, Tibco, Rational Rose, the Booch methodology and the Rational Unified Process. Capstone taught over 100 courses worldwide on leading edge technologies.

Capstone Expands Focus

With the downturn in the IT sector, Capstone expanded its focus to include Systems Integration, Business Intelligence and Microsoft technologies. Capstone continued to provide value and deliver for customers. The core technologies, tools and processes expanded to include Java, C#/.NET, J2E, Tibco, Oracle, SQL Server, Cognos, WebFocus, SSRS, ScrumDo, BaseCamp, and Mike Cohen’s Agile processes. Capstone started the IT staffing business practice during this phase.

Capstone Refines Focus

Capstone refined focus and expanded its leadership and technical prowess. Capstone fully embraced Agile, while continuing to grow its Microsoft presence (Silver Partner).

The core technologies, tools and processes now include Java, C#/.NET, J2E, Tibco, Oracle, SQL Server, Cognos, WebFocus, SSRS, MS TFS, Jira, and have licensed Mountain Goat Software training courses.

Capstone specializes in Application Development (Java, .NET, Mobile, BI), Federal Contracting, IT Staffing (staffing, contract-to-hire, permanent placement), Project Leadership, Strategic IT and SAP/QA Testing services.

Our Newest Practice Areas.

Capstone continues to focus on three main areas, Custom Solutions, Business Solutions and IT Staffing.

Custom Solutions provides the full-range of outsourced IT project work. This includes integrating commercial/internal solutions, enhancing solutions, or maintaining them. Capstone provides the right resources or teams to augment, blend or completely deliver a project/program.

Business Solutions has two components, cloud computing and end-to-end process automation. Capstone cloud computing services helps clients move seamlessly to the cloud, whether they are migrating to an off-the-shelf cloud solution or developing a custom cloud solution. End-to-end process automation this suite of agile products helps the client connect dynamic processes across their company. Full multichannel capture capabilities including paper, fax, web, email, and mobile records.

IT Staffing provides Contract employees, Contract to hire and Direct hire options. Contract employees – Capstone has a pool of contractors who are available for assignment to meet client’s short and medium term needs. Contract to hire – Capstone can set up qualified candidates who clients can bring on in a temporary relationship and then have the option to hire on when ready. Direct hire – Capstone can find quality candidates for the positions clients have open in their IT departments.
